Vacuum seal

Vacuum clamping systems provide secure, distortion-free workholding for machining, inspection, and laser welding applications. A vacuum pump removes the air from beneath the workpiece, allowing atmospheric pressure to hold it firmly against the vacuum chuck without mechanical clamps.

The rubber seal is a critical part of the system. It creates the airtight boundary needed to generate and maintain the vacuum. If the seal is damaged or worn, vacuum performance and clamping force are reduced.

Depending on the chuck design, O-ring sealing cord can be used to create the sealed area. This is a consumable component that can easily be replaced as it wears or when changing workpiece geometry.
