Type DA with pressure indicator and long travel stroke
Rotor Tool AG Ltd is a Swiss-based company specialising in the design and manufacturing of high-precision tools, precision centres and pneumatic chucks.
Their live centres, also known as revolving tailstocks and foot stocks, are designed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of machining operations by providing a precise and stable centring point for workpieces.
Rotor Tool’s live centres can be used in various industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, and energy, and are known for their high precision, durability, and versatility. They offer a range of models with different features and capabilities.
General Information about the Main Line DA range
A pressure indicator with different colour bands permits rapid setting and monitoring of the optimum pressure. Length tolerances and different centre bores are compensated through a travel stroke at fixed positions. Correspondingly, light workpieces can be clamped with great precision.
All centres with pressure indicators are available in two different spring pressures
Type DA – V Specs
Main Line Range
Application
Reliable top of the range for CNC and conventional lathes and grinding machines.
With over-pressure protection through disc springs.
Design
- Surface-hardened body
- Ground tapers conform to DIN228AT3
- Through-hardened spindle made from high-grade steel
- Spindle mounted by two needle bearings
- Thrust ball bearings to accommodate axial loads
- Over-pressure protection through disc springs
- Reliable lip seal
- Continuous lubrication using high-quality grease
Sizes
- Morse tapers no. 1 to 7
- Various metric tapers
Body and spindle models
- SM (small): small body, for light pieces and higher turning speeds
- ST (standard): for normal loads
- SU (super): for heavy-duty loads and low turning speeds
Type of spindle
- Type N/NH = standard point 60°
Loads
The weight indications for workpieces are based on the assumption that the workpieces are held between two live centres, and therefore, one centre must support a maximum of 50% of the workpiece weight. Additional loads – such as from imbalance or uneven weight distribution – are not permitted.
Important
- Refer to the load diagram
- Live centres with carbide tips must not be used at maximum load.
Maintenance
All ROTOR centres are manufactured with continuous lubrication.
