The faceplate drawbar-operated expanding mandrel is suitable for use on any machine with drawbar facilities, making it ideal for general turning and grinding applications.
Adaptor plates to suit your machine’s mounting specifications can be supplied by Thame Workholding. A selection of component end-locators—both solid types and compensating options for out-of-square locating faces—are also available.
The sleeve’s natural pull-back action ensures the component is firmly seated against the location face. To prevent over-stressing, an over-expansion stop is built into the expander pin.
For maximum efficiency, expansion sleeves should be pre-loaded to maintain constant contact with the mandrel’s double-angled surfaces.
