The spigot drawbar-operated expanding mandrel is suitable for use on any machine with drawbar facilities, making it ideal for general turning and grinding applications.
Adaptor plates to suit your machine’s mounting specifications can be supplied by Thame Workholding. A range of component end-locators—both solid types and compensating options for out-of-square locating faces—are also available.
The sleeve’s natural pull-back action ensures the component is securely seated against the location face. To protect the expanding sleeve, an integrated over-expansion stop is built into the expander pin.
For optimum performance, expansion sleeves should be pre-loaded to maintain constant contact with the mandrel’s double-angled surfaces.
