Made in Britain. Made to Perform.

The Magic vacuum chuck was born from a real-world challenge. A leading medical manufacturer needed a way to machine delicate polyethylene acetabular liners for hip replacements – components that were previously prone to distortion and high scrap rates under conventional clamping methods.

Our engineers developed a completely new approach to solve this problem: a vacuum-activated workholding system with an integrated hydraulic tilt mechanism, capable of securely holding complex geometries and completing the process in a single operation.

The impact has been significant:

  • Reduced setup time and eliminated manual transfers
  • Improved accuracy and repeatability
  • Lower scrap rates and higher throughput
  • Freed-up capacity for manufacturers to take on more work

Most importantly, this innovation enables global manufacturers to deliver vital medical components with greater efficiency, ultimately supporting better patient outcomes.

Engineered Innovation

The Magic Chuck combines vacuum workholding with an integrated hydraulic tilt mechanism, enabling the machining of complex geometries in a single setup.
This approach eliminates the need for multiple fixtures or manual transfers between machines, reducing setup time, enhancing repeatability, and ensuring consistently high-quality results.

Built for Performance

Vacuum Hold: Securely clamps delicate or intricate parts with no distortion.

Adjustable Tilt:  Enables precise positioning for off-axis machining and complex shapes.

Seamless Integration: Fully compatible with CNC control systems and suitable for both single and twin-spindle machines.

Versatile Range: Available in nine standard insert sizes, with bespoke options available.

Low Maintenance, Long Life: Engineered for reliability and endurance.

Proven Results

Manufacturers using the Magic Chuck have reported faster cycle times, reduced waste and more consistent output.

What began as a specialist bespoke solution has evolved into a benchmark for precision workholding across modern medical manufacturing.
